Frequently Asked Questions

I'm a Patron of Yess (or would like to be) and am worried about confidentiality

Completely understandable. I take HIPAA guidelines, protecting client Private Health Information (PHI), and respecting privacy/confidentiality very seriously. Even though I am working out of a non-traditional therapy setting (e.g. not a mental health clinic), I still vow to always act with professionalism and integrity. All therapy correspondence and payments will be with me directly, and me alone. The owner of Yess and other members of Yess will not have access to my appointment schedule, or any client information. I do not believe attending therapy is a shameful thing, and am continuously striving to reduce the stigma. However, I respect your personal autonomy and right to privacy.

I do attend yoga classes at Yess a few times per week but will generally keep to myself. :)

I will NEVER "out" you as a therapy client or discuss your therapy with anyone else. In fact, I will not acknowledge you (beyond a friendly "hello!") outside of our sessions unless you greet me first. This is to protect your privacy and keep you in control of the dynamic.
In return, I ask that you don't discuss your therapy with me outside of our sessions (except during professional emails, phone calls, etc.). This is to respect your privacy, and my time and energy during my non-work hours.

If I complete an intensive with you and enjoy working with you, can I become a weekly client?

Yess! Schedule permitting, intensive clients can become weekly/biweekly clients, and vice versa.

Is this yoga therapy/are you a yoga teacher?

No, and no! I am an amateur yogi and have never taken a yoga teacher training. My sessions are not held in the yoga studios, but in one of the wellness offices.

I just love the inclusive community at Yess, and the celebration of wellness, holistic health and healing, and the mind-body connection. I also like the idea of offering therapy in a non-clinical setting.

I'm sharing an office with Jen who IS a yoga therapist, and I'm excited to learn more from her.
Her website is Inner Knowing Yoga Therapy and she is at Yess on Monday's and Wednesday's.
